Electric Scooters

Overview

Even though a wide range of electric scooters is available in many markets, they have not been in the spotlight in the same way as electric cars have (recently) been. This might be due in part to the generally restricted target group of scooters with respect to cars. Also, none of the major manufacturers currently produces all-electric versions of their scooters (yet), which is why marketing has been somewhat limited in this segment.

The Vectrix could well change this and draw more attention to electric scooters in general. If it can live up to the promises, it will become a viable contestant in its segment and unbeatable in terms of performance paired with green credentials. At the same time, we see attractive models from other manufacturers becoming available in standard performance classes. This is being helped by the increased focus on design, exemplified by Pininfarina turning the good old 2-stroke VeloSolex into a very distinctive electric scooter-bike.
